  Acknowledgments

I hate that I've gone on this long without acknowledging the people who immediately supported the need to bring this cynical commiseration to life. Thanks to Adams Media, particularly the talented Brendan O'Neill, who creatively loves to hate with us. And to my superagent, Taryn Fagerness of the Taryn Fagerness Agency, who believed in my same vision from the moment we met.

And to my supportive family, Mom, Dad, Marc, and Michelle; along with Jen, my girlfriend; Klara and all my friends, extended family, coworkers, neighbors, and to my puppy dogs Chewie and Madalynn — I'd like to say, you have all been a form of inspiration in one way or another; I assure you, it was only positive.

I hate that you might not believe me.

  I hate stretching the truth.

I hate that there isn't enough room to write out all of your names.
